STORM TRACK: January 31, 1985 (Volume 8 Issue 2)

Storm Track received many positive and enthusiastic comments about the last issue. A few responses from storm research meteorologists did caution that the horizontal vorticity shown being drawn up into the meso-cyclone (last illustration) is just one theoretical explanation, and not yet fully verified. More on this later in the newsletter.

Please note the price increase above, from $4.00 to $4.60 per subscription. This increase is the minimum necessary to defray current photocopying/mailing costs. A recent recalculation of expenses indicated operational costs were a net loss for the last several issues. Although the Editor has never made a profit from the newsletter, he does at least need to break even. Sorry for the jolt.
