LETTERS/PHONE CALLS (CONT'D)

A reminder that Byron Long, retired FAA Flight Service Station observer at Gage, OK writes that both Gage and Hobart will be disconnected from the SA circuit this spring (hourly regional/ station reports) and will only provide local weather. There will be no weather maps and none of the usual teletype services. This is also true for Hill City, KS. Chasers, take note! Be sure not to drive hundreds of miles and spend critical time going to these stations for data. It isn't there anymore. Thanks for the letter Byron as this is essential information. -- Dave Hoadley.

A chasers telephone guide has been published by the editor. The guide lists phone numbers of economy motels throughout Kansas, Oklahoma, and North Texas. Toll free numbers of airlines, car rental, and motels are listed. Also available is Dave Hoadley's storm chase checklist. This is a must to make sure you have everything together before starting out on the road. For your free copy of either list send me a note and a 22 cent stamp.
