TAMDAR has been operating well over a year without a formal agreement with NWS, and the government has now delayed any possible agreement another two months and have not communicated with the AirDat...

Since NWS HQ apparently doesn't see the value in realtime upper air data, AirDat is removing NWS and public access to the output effective November 15th.

Always good to see NWS Headquarters (same organization that declared the "no surprise weather service", same one that requires the Day 7 forecast get as much work as the 24 hour forecast) accomplishing something that helps us all!

Aircraft soundings -- http://www.crh.noaa.gov/tamdar

Similar to ACARS, but they focused on commuter jets instead of the "big boys" so soundings were available for places like South Bend, Alpena, Muskegon and the like.
