Just checking out SPC's 1200z soundings page and found this sounding for CRP:

I don't believe I've ever seen such a wild and convoluted hodograph. That's some crazy shear! :eek:
Check out the Supercell and Sig Tor perameters. Maybe those of you chasing today should position in Corpus Christie! ;)

Edit: Sorry for the small image. You can view the sounding at http://www.spc.noaa.gov/exper/soundings/07041312_OBS/ and clicking on the CRP site (south Texas coast) at least for now. It appears some correction is in progress, as the current day sounding page displayed on the site is actually for Tuesday, 4/10.

Check out the upper level jet streak around 400 mb, at least 260 kts from what I can see!! I think that is too much shear, storm would never last...

If it did, one might be hard-pressed to keep up with such a storm...maybe by plane? :)

Below was the Lake Charles sounding when southeast Texas experienced a significant tornado and heavy rain event back in October.
