listen to this...i was just showing my girlfreind some of those hurricane eye photos in the hurricane thread...and i was just showin her this thunderstorm complex out at sea...we were just sittin there and talkin and what not, and i was just staring off into the picture, when something caught my eye....

i spotted sea creatures...and at first...i thought it might be some kind of joke...maybe someone snuck something in on the basemap...but after closer examination...it occurred to me that it wasnt a base map, it was an actual high-resolution satellite image...

i chopped it up in photoshop few mins ago, sorry its messy, but it does the job...

note on the bottom right-hand image the distinct eyes, mouth and fins...

you can go see it for yourself in this image: http://rapidfire.sci.gsfc.nasa.gov/gallery/?2003257-0914/Isabel2.A2003257.1755.500m.jpg

umm.. at 500m resolution, you couldn't pick out a ship on that imagery, much less any "sea creature".

Dude......they're clouds. And this comes from someone who still believes in Nessie.

Good day all,

Seriously, I am assuming you are taking shapes of clouds and features and applying "that cloud looks like a..." game to it.

But some stuff can be picked up on visible satellite than CAN be actual sealife.

You cannot see a whole whale, ship, or stuff at that detail as Blake suggested, but you might see discolorations and patterns caused by large schools of fish, algae blooms, red tides, and many other things than can "discolor" the sea surface.

its the shapes of the clouds im referring to...im well aware you cant see actuall "sea creatures" on the satellite...i tried to highlight them for yall to see...

you have to look closely...i even pulled some of the images out...go into photoshop, and pull them out yourself, or look at the satellite image yourself...and they resemble sea-life...
