If you chase with one, I'd return it ASAP...

I own a portable weather radio that is the same as the second one shown in the pictures on that site. I will be calling them tommorow. I always thought I just had it set up wrong when I would sometimes not recieve alerts from them.

Thanks for the notice Gilbert! I hadn't heard anything about this recall, and I own the radio in the first picture. I was just chasing a tornado warned severe storm this past Friday evening with it and I didn't hear about it being tornado warned until after I peeled off the storm since the warning was never received on my radio.
Thanks again for the heads up! And I will definitely be giving Oregon Scientific a call tomorrow.

Mine seems to be working fine, I don't chase with it just leave it at home for my wife. But I did send them a e-mail to them and they got right back to me and are sending out a shipping lable to return it for a new one. Said it would take 2 to 3 weeks to get the new one once they get mine.

I called Oregon Scientific today concerning the recall and timed myself at 48 minutes on hold. Then got this, "press 1 to leave a number. We will call you in the order received".
Well, no call all day. I have run across other delays and dodges. This is not good business. They also want proof of purchase, and want you to send the unit back before replacement.
Some companies, upon learning of their gross errors, would fly a new unit out immediately. This happened recently with another type of device I bought. Some companies are concerned with vicarious liability.
My experience only.

Hmm I was wondering why I never got the tornado warning for the Chicago area storm last month. Now I know why!
