While looking at OUN's site I stumbled across an event being held in October called the National Weather Festival. This appears to be the 3rd year they're doing it, has anyone attended previous 2 they had or will anyone be attending the one they're having this year?

It's on a Saturday, I figure if I have nothing to do I might drive down there for the heck of it.

Is that a part of NSSL?

I went last year. It was like an open house for the National Weather Center in Norman. I enjoyed the storm chaser car show. It was interesting to see all the different ways everyone had their stuff bolted in their car or truck. And there was a balloon launch and some other stuff for the kids.

If it's planned like the previous two, there will be tours of SPC and the NWS office, a vendor's table with T shirts from the NSSL employees association, weather displays, and weather related stuff for kids.
It's a cool way to spend a Saturday morning.
