I was dumbfounded when I learned of the DMX survey. I breifly chased this storm on my way home from NW Iowa. Although my Roaming Gnome gps icon shows I was close I feel what I was seeing was not the honey spot. I was just south of Ewart (not Elkhart as I mistakenly state in the video). Probably a good thing I missed the turn at Grinnell on I80 as I most certainly would have driven into a tornado.

Sure looks interesting Jerry...the intersecting bands kind of suggest that was the focal point for a circulation. I am pretty confident that was the tornado you were oberving there with rain wrapped around it. In what direction were you driving?
Also...I have sent in an E-Spotter report to DMX for the small tornado I observed Sunday evening north of the town of Lytton IA (Calhoun Co.)
