Interesting GR3 placefiles?

Anyone with any interesting GR place files they use while chasing? Wasn't sure whether or not to put this in the equipment section as this isn't really a software (how to) question. I know Jeff Snyder and his Tornado Central page has some interesting links, while Allisonhouse and Grlevelstuff.com does also......Just wondering if anyone has anything out of the ordinary they use as a place file, or what you do use, if any?

One thing I’ve noticed is that the SN icons disappear after a while. If I re-launch GR, they come right back. I’ve never heard of anyone else having this issue, so it must be something I have configured wrong.

While i havent had the problems with the Spotter Network, I have been having trouble loading some specific placefiles, I.E Roadsigns, watches and warnings by counties. If you have any experience or advice it would be greatly appreciated

It does that to me too. I'll ask around with some of the guys here and see if they have the same problem.

I download all of the static placefiles and their IconFile PNG's to my laptop in the field so that I can load them locally with out any internet. I have found that allot of the issues with placefiles are to do with the internet. I can show anyone interested how to do this. Also as far as I know grlevelx loads placefiles from top to bottom of the placefile manager list, I always put the static files first due to the fact they don’t require internet to load.

You may be able to download the IconFile only from SOME dynamic placefiles so conserve bandwidth. Keep in mind if you do this if the host of the file changes things you are going to have errors.
