Just wanted to get everyones thoughts on the latest 48 hour forecast.

http://rap.ucar.edu/weather/progs/index.php?prog=00

That looks like one mean storm in the pacific. Cant quite tell but the Ccenter looks to be around 960mb. The amount of precip is also considerable as well. I am imaging the worst for the Northwest, can anyone confirm what can be expected?

I dont see much for forecasts but on the latest Hazards Briefing, The entire west coast is looking at "heavy Rain and/or snow and Strong winds in Southern California. Some personal thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Personally, I am always confused by those systems. They appear in almost every model run.. For example, this storm really never makes any progress in this forecast. So if anyone else knows why these systems are in tons of model runs, yet it never seems like they do much, help me out!

well for one your going to have a very strong high sitting in rocky mountains for awhile and until that moves out most systems will be stalled off of the coast latest spc sref 21z 30th has the high at 1044mb 27hrs out in western wyoming.
