GREAT VIDEO, Mike. However, it appears the the bolt is in front of, and extends downward below the distant plane. But the barking dog, obviously alarmed by the flash, adds a nice touch. This reminds me of a total solar eclipse I saw on Nantucket Island (MA) many years ago. When even the smallest bead of sun re-emerges from the moon's disc, there is this tremendous surge of light in a very short time. The sudden return of light was enough to set several dogs barking.

Looks like it struck the plane to me. Some "sparks trail" or something can be seen behind the plane ??? Nice catch!
