Thought I'd post the link since I enjoyed it so much last year. I'm looking forward to going again this year as well, especially after seeing the featured presenters and topics.

Unfortunately I won't be able to make it - looks like this is the same date as the one in Des Moines (30 mi. south of me). Looks incredible, though!

As of most of you know my now, I've been assisting in the organization of the CPSWS for the last couple years. This particular event is much different than most other conferences as it has a more family oriented theme. The main focus of the symposium is to help create the awareness and preparedness for severe weather. In past years we've had chasers either attend or give presentations. Our presentations for this year are pretty much set but if you would like to attend and maybe make some cash off of video or picture sales, please feel free to contact me.
I realize that for the last couple years there have been issues regarding the date of the event as it is the same day as the conference in Des Moines. Again, the target audience of this event is much different than other conferences including Des Moines.
Please feel free contact me (PM or jbower2@bigred.unl.edu) about any questions you may have regarding this year's Symposium.
Hope to see you there!

Not only that, the last 2 years it has fallen on decent chase days!!

Yeah I know!
I understand completely if a good setup is out there on that particular day but I have no choice I have to be there.
Someone asked me about recommending moving it to either Fall or Winter and we've contemplated that but from the feedback we're received our attendance might be affected because the general public might not have as much interest in this kind of conference at that time of year.
Mark your calendars....Saturday, March 29, 2008....CHASE DAY!!!! ;)

I might be in attendance since it is something close to the Kansas City metro area. Anybody from the KC Metro planning on going?

Was going to go last year, but opted for chasing instead and ended up missing it. I want to go this year, but I'm leaving for Vegas the next day. I hope those who go have a great time.

Looks like an interesting line up, I definitely wanna catch Mike's presentation of the Greensburg tornado!! Barring any chance for severe weather, those coming to town let me know… we can go have a few drinks, downtown Lincoln Bars can be quite the time.

Looks like I will bump this since it is in 2 days.
I will make the trip out to Lincoln early Saturday, is there anything to do (dumb question to ask) after the symposium?

I think I have convinced the girlfriend and some friends to make the trip to Lincoln with me on Saturday. We'll see, I'm getting anxious for it.

I'll be giving two presentations in the breakout rooms during the day. The first one being at 11 a.m. (Internet Weather) and the second one at 1 p.m. (Tornado Preparedness). We are expecting quite the turnout and I think we can easily break last year's attendance record (~3500 attendees).
