Very interesting...tornado reports coming out of Ohio:

* TORNADO WARNING FOR...
EASTERN CLARK COUNTY IN WEST CENTRAL OHIO...
NORTHEASTERN GREENE COUNTY IN WEST CENTRAL OHIO...

* UNTIL 630 PM EDT.

* AT 542 PM EDT...LOCAL LAW ENFORCEMENT REPORTED A PERSISTENT FUNNEL
CLOUD NORTHWEST OF JAMESTOWN. THIS STORM HAS HAD A HISTORY OF A
SERIES OF BRIEF TORNADO TOUCHDOWNS ALONG ITS PATH FROM NORTHERN
CLINTON COUNTY INTO EASTERN GREENE COUNTY. RADAR INDICATED THAT
THE TORNADO PRODUCING STORM WAS LOCATED NEAR CEDARVILLE...MOVING
NORTH AT 19 MPH.

This area is almost out of the "See Text" area. Always interesting to see storms that break the rules. Law enforcement is confirming the tornadoes.

The Wilmington Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol confirmed that they received reports of a tornado touchdown near mile marker 54 of Interstate 71, 10TV News reported.

There were no reports of damage.

The Clinton County Sheriff's Department confirmed that it received reports of a tornado touchdown about 2 miles south of Port Williams, 10TV News reported.

The Clinton County EMA said power lines were reported down in Port Williams.

Just caught this pretty amazing video from Channel 19, WHNT in Huntsville, AL. This is from a surveillance camera showing a tornado crossing a parking lot:

http://www.whnt.com/Global/category.asp?C=6018&nav=menu108_1

This tornado occurred on the northern end of the squall line that was moving through NW Alabama and Mississippi, at 12:53 according to Storm reports. My Mom and Stepdad live about 4 miles North of where this went through, on the other side of the Tennessee river in Center Star. I had just talked to her to tell her it was moving south of them, but they should still be on alert.

Amazing. My only beef is the chief met saying that with an "EF-4 tornado, the winds would be six times as strong."

Sure, sure, hyperbole, but still.

All I can say is...wow.

with an "EF-4 tornado, the winds would be six times as strong."

Actually, Dan's statement was correct. Wind force is a square, rather than linear, function.

At the suggestion of one of my coworkers, I found this on the Good Morning America website. Great pics of the western Kansas landspout by Jim Reed and his assistant. What a beautiful tornado. If I was out that day, I probably would have blown off western Kansas until it was too late.
