I've seen some pretty impressive radar images this season, but failed to save alot of them. However, one that I did save that I thought was impressive was a tornadic supercell with screaming eagle signature and one big, curly hook that "embraced" Belton, Texas back on April 25th. I look forward to seeing some more!

I'm a fan of this one, with it's awesome flying eagle reflectivity FFD structure, classic hook, and nice RFD gust front fineline:

I remember seeing that one Steve.
Well I didn't get any screen shots of any of the amazing radar display. I would have to say the one storm that stands out in my mind the most ( I know somebody will have the screen shot to this one) Is the April 09 Breckenridge Tx supercell.. Beautiful flying eagle radar presentation on that storm! Wish I had the screen shot for it.

Haha, nice to see my spotter network icon next to the hook on that one. I hadn't seen many radar images from that day, not even in real time. I was going visually with no radar data on that one... it IS possible!

My favorite is this one from April 7 2008 I believe... mainly because of the string of chasers who were late for the storm's hook echo development.

Tornadic Suppercell from last year in WI. This was the day SPC had a high risk across the great lakes area and WI had alot of tornadoes reported. I think it is the same day Tony Lubauch saw monster hail in WI around baseball size.

I'm hoping to see some additional GR3 images from the 123-mile Feb. 5th monster. I lost internet connection (and ultimately power) at my house when the storm was entering Stone Co., AR, so anything after Stone Co. would be of particular interest. (I did see Ben H's image from Clinton, so thanks for that.)

This truly is a sign that chaser convergences are getting out of hand when they start to show up on radar, lol. What, were to many people standing on top of their cars with tripods and getting in the radar beam? :P

(and yes before someone takes me as serious I know that isnt what happened or caused this.)

This was my 2nd best radar capture of the year. A tornado was reported on the ground by law enforcement. I was stuck at work on duty. I had my wife take cover as I watched in horror as this cell went over my house. As I took this screen capture, the phones at my house went dead and were not back up for about 10 minutes. A little nerve racking to say the least. Only a little hail in my neighborhood!

The dot in the center is my house....

Got lucky to get this grab of Quinter #2, Sprint was kind enough to drop my connection while I was outside filming and thus preserved this image on GR3. Tornado in progress and approaching I-70.

You must live where my brother does (S of Grand Ave Pkwy exit). I nowcasted this one with him on his cell and his wife screaming at him to get under the mattress. He was reporting bear's cage rotation and cursing himself for not knowing where the videocamera was. Must be in the blood.

Darrin,
We live up the road from Grand Ave. Parkway in Round Rock. I was working at a fire station by 35 and Parmer when this cell was approaching. Pflugerville was hit pretty hard by straight line winds and we were listening to the FD channels to the reports coming in fromthe cell. My wife was NOT happy when I told her that I was not joking and to get her and her kids into the closet under the stairs NOW!
It's one thing to be chasing and get excited about seeing a cell like this coming versus seeing one coming at your OWN house. I was sure this cell was producing and after a bunch of praying, we had no damgae at all. Just a VERY upset wife when she emerged from under a mattress under the stairs!!

That's an odd one picking up traffic. It made me remember this one but I have no idea what caused it: (July 05, 2007)

Similar pattern was evident on one of the local tv radars here in central Iowa in last year I believe. Rumor has it that it was caused by a competitor's radar being set on an incorrect frequency.
