The monsoon has been in full swing in the Southwest the past couple weeks, and it has provided lots of photo ops in the Santa Fe, NM area. Here are a few of my catches.

There's been lightning, of course:

And a scud bomb that, combined with intense rain just to its right (west), created the optical illusion of a massive wedge. (It WAS NOT a tornado - there was no severe weather associated with this storm, though it did cause heavy rain and minor flooding):

There was a double rainbow:

There were storms over the mountains (my favorite shot so far):

and storms in the valley:

I'm sure others are seeing interesting stuff, too, so let's see your pics!

Thank you for submitting those stunning photos.
I've been noticing radars out there.
Love how the air smells when the rains come there.

Been an active few days out in Southern NM and Far West Texas...

(Raw photos...mind the dust spots).

Should be quieting down Sun-Mon with subsidence ahead of the easterly wave/inverted trough in central TX... but should see a return to activity by Tue-Wed.

Southern Arizona looks active tonight through the weekend. Multiple MCSes moved over the Gulf the past few nights... resulting in a moderate Gulf Surge today which has juiced up the Sonoran Desert lowlands. GPS PWAT values at Yuma went from 1 inch to 2 inches in 18 hours, with healthy rises at Sells and Phoenix too.

Amazing photos guys, I wish I lived down near AZ/NM this time of year so I could take advantage of the Monsoon storms like you. My area has yet to see a decent push of that Monsoonal Moisture. We did have an Evening of thunderstorms that were previously severe on July 8th. The lightning was awesome and I wished I would have driven to a vantage point rather then sit at home and take photos. Nonetheless, I did manage to get a few awesome shots if you like Lightning photos from an Urban/Neighborhood point of view.

The last Picture is of a bolt that hit pretty close. The thunder was awesome.

I do plan on chasing as soon as I can get some Monsoonal Moisture up this way. I have several vanatge points in place and cant wait to take advantage and see how the photos look.

Happy Chasing out there. The Southwest is really looking active.
