(Mods, this might have inadvertantly been sent to you a moment ago by accident. Please...obviously ignore one of the two if this has happened-thanks-Joel.)

Hi all! While reading thru a S.T. forum a year or two ago...or perhaps it was a SPC discussion, it mentioned a "QLCS-type Spinup". Since then, I have always wondered what indeed that is. My thanks in advance to those of you who have taken the time to help me with this. Joel

Quasi Linear Convective System QLCS.....spin up would be something along the lines of a pulse type updraft that cranks up and begins to rotate enought to drop a brief tornado. Get alot of these at night when the LLJ ramps up and LL shear enhances from my past experiences of radar goobering.

Just out of curiosity, how (if at all) does a QLCS tornado differ from a LEWP tornado?
