I'm assembling a radar interp slideshow for Net Control Operators. During recent storm events I've seen storms and radar imagery I would like to capture (screen grab) to use as examples. Anyone know how I can do this on the NWSFO sites?
BTW: I already have pre-produced NWS radar interp ppt files so dont bother sending me those. I just want to capture my own images.

You can grab a multitude of radar products from Plymouth State Weather Center's website, down to the minute of whatever date, even back to 2008. If I understand that's what you're looking for.

I don't know about NWSFO images, but on weatherunderground.com you can click a link at the bottom left of the radar images to save the current image. Clicking the link brings it up in a separate tab/window, then just right-click the image and save-as. Don't know if there is any kind of archive, but I tend to doubt it as that would take a sizable amount of server storage. You can go back 4 hours (40 frames) to previous images and cycle through them until you get to the current image or the image you want. So if you have heard of a significant event and are quick enough you can capture the radar image and save it for later use.
If you upgrade to a $10/mo. sub, you can save the whole 4-hour animations. With the free account you can only animate/save the most recent 6 frames.
You won't get the particular images you're looking for, but you might catch some equivalents, especially this weekend over Dixie Alley.

Steve, that's $10/year unless they've changed it and for anyone who's not a paying member, i can offer a free year, get with me via PM.
As for the archive, Wunderground DOES in fact, provide a way for generating full day animated GIFs of radar imagery. On any NEXRAD image page, like this: http://www.wunderground.com/radar/radblast.asp?ID=DTX®ion=a4&lat=42.37080002&lon=-83.51950073&label=Plymouth%2c%20MI
if you scroll down on the right, you'll see a form for "Radar Archive". That will at least give you a full 24 hours of radar BR1 (Base Reflectivity, First Tilt (.5 degree)).
