early tropical storms

Has the NHC stopped naming topical storms that form before June 01? I am referring to Tropical Storm Noname that made landfall near Dauphin Island , Al. last May 23. Why was that tropical storm not named Ana? Ed

As far as I know, if it was declared a tropical storm at the time, it would have gotten a name. From what I've seen (and I don't remember enough about this event to have my own opinion), there was not total agreement that it was a tropical storm. If they decided later on after review that it was a tropical storm, they may or may not give it a name.
