Some of you may have seen this before on other webpages. I figured I'd post my version.
$40 off ebay and $5 in RadioShack parts and you have a perfectly workable GPS for your car.

I have done that and it WORKS great!
Do you know if you can do the same thing with an Earthmate?
I know it is not NMEA. I got the GST-1 to convert the data to NMEA format.
I just havn't been able to modify it to work standalone like the Tripmate.
I would imagine it would be a similar modification.
Have you ever heard of anybody using an Earthmate with the TinyTrack?

from everything I've read the only option is the GST-1

Yes. I got the GST-1 to work with the computer, but it sends initialisation codes to activate the GPS. I can't get it to work standalone (without the computer)
