While certainly not as detailed as David's thread, here's my pitiful attempt at an install. It's nice, because if I ever go chasing and spend the night somewhere, I can just unbolt the console from it's base and take the whole radio set in with me. Very nice profile, out of the way.
It's a dual band ham rig on the bottom, and a Icom VHF for spotting on top.

A nice clean installation Andrew!
Is that rack pre-fabbed or homemade?

It's premade by Gamber-Johnson, model SM-212. You can usually find it between 30-45 dollars. It's nice because you can fit anything on it, unlike most consoles where you need a specific faceplate for a specific radio.

Andrew, that looks like a great mount. Very nice installation. I remember Galls had a really nice one at one time, before they discontinued it, that you could mount up to 4 different-sized radios on it; because they had adjustable, sliding mounts similar to that one. I've been looking ever since for a similar model for that versatility, and I think you may have provided me with a viable solution.

They're all made by the same company in the end. Just depends who was sold to who and who owned the patent rights and what not on it. Gamber-Johnson currently has it. :)
I picked mine up at sirennet.com. Good price; but crappy customer service. Took about a week to direct ship from the manufactuer.

Looks good, I have the TM-V7A also. Be careful with the mic, it seems to die over time especially if you're rough with it. I have no idea why mine crapped out.

I will be taking it out this week at some point to install a new UHF radio (to replace the Kenwood). When I do that, I'll take some good shots of the way the brackets work.
