Would appreciate input.
I would like to see all of the different configurations that others have used out there for their cams mounted in their vehicles. I have a 4.5 lb camera it is rather somewhat larger than your average handheld. Panasonic DVX100 A.
I would like to know all of the different options available. I assume that it will be somewhat custom. If it works in conjunction wiht a laptop table mount that would be great as well. I am unsure that the window mount on the earlier thread will work for the camera I have size/ weight..
David said somehting about a Ramtec or something like that i cant remember.. Pictures sure would help.. anyone out there consider themselves an expert here??

Yes i have seen that one but i cant have my camera outside.. and to put it inside i would need to stick it to the windshield which for the size of my cam i dont think will work..

If you look closely at the stuff channel 15 did, all their stuff is in the vehicle. There's also this one, but I didn't look at the specs: http://www.stormtrack.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=2667

Ram Mount < www.rammount.com (http://www.rammount.com) > You can come up with ANY configuration that might suit your needs. I used all Ram Mount components for my dash cam. I attached a base to my center console, then used a rod with a Ram Mount 1.5" arm at exactly dash height. I also used Ram Mount components to create a support arm and attached it to my Jotto Desk. I added a quick release plate and presto I had a very protable dash cam solution.

I'm sure none of this makes sense  I don't have the setup in my vehicle right now, but I may set it up today and take some pictures to post.

Check out http://www.gpscity.com/accram/ram/rammounts.html or http://www.mobilecx.com/ for some example Ram Mount configurations.

I went through several different configurations before I came up with this and I'm very happy with it.

Over in the UK we have started to use these mounts which feature a small vacum pump - they have been tested (not by me) to 60 lbs in weight and I can well belive it. Cost is about £80
