I just happened across this brief clip from a home video. Wow. I don't know if it ever got featured in the news, but it should have. Reminds me of a miniature Andover.

I agree it does have that Andover look....or maybe a similar look of that June 2, 1990 F4 tornado down by Mt. Carmel IL.

That's the one taken from the west edge of town while it was moving through the neighborhoods south of Lake Kegonsa. Unfortunately I don't think Scott Weberpal used that one in his DVD.

Anyone know if there is video of the Andover tornado online?

That's a great clip, Bob. Here's another great one of the Stoughton tornado. I think it's from around the Skaalen Road area, near our very own Andy, if I remeber correctly?
Anyways, look out for the farm buildings in this one:

Hey Adam,
The video, I persume Brian is talking about, used to be online, but I can't seem to find it right now. Here's a framegrab from it though:

Homevideo views of the tornado:

You can see the video we're comparing to Andover, and about 10 others from that event, on in the TVC series.
Hope this helped you out.

Yes, that would be the infamous "Watch That Potty Mouth!" video which shows the tornado just after it passed through my neighborhood.

The Stoughton tornado looked quite intense from that video, but in my opinioon, it was nowhere near as intense as the Andover tornado. Cloud material from that tornado was rising from the surface to the top of the funnel at an incredible rate.
The only tornado that I think compares with the Andover tornado in terms of large stovepipe/almost wedge type violence is the Bridge Creek/Moore tornado of May 3, 1999 when the tornado had narrowed as it was crossing I-44. The motion of the tornado was extremely dramatic; it was almost as if nature hit the fast-forward button. Huge chunks of debris were being lofted almost straight up as if the tornado were a giant dirt digger. If it looked that fast on video, I can only imagine what it looked like in real life!

I wouldn't argue that. It was the eggbeater appearance of the multiple vortices I was thinking of, not the intensity.

LOL, I should've read that better. :D FWIW, I agree with you on the shape of the tornado and whatnot.
Also, I was reminded of the Girard, KS tornado when I was writing in another thread. That tornado approached the violent appearance of the Andover tornado (at least, based on the video I have seen).

LOL!
This is the first time I've seen it. You're not kidding!

It's the video where the most prevalent synonym for the tornado is "that big f***er!".
Also, for those who haven't seen:

Wow, great video! Impressive tornado, got to have been an F-4 at some time along it's path.

It's a new designation...not F-0, F-1, 2, 3, 4, or 5...it's the F-F tornado!...so purely incredible that the only way to describe it is LOOK HOW BIG THAT F***ER IS!!! :D
In related news, I finally have most of my web pages devoted to that event up:

Nice reportage, Andy--well-written and dramatic. Thanks for posting your link and your video clips. I'd much rather go to the storms than have them come to me, especially here in the Great Lakes where the trees hide the view.
Where would I find the link to the "Big F--r!" video y'all are talking about? Or is it on this thread and I've just somehow missed it? (I often run just the video without the sound.)

Yes, that is earlier in this thread.
