New Orleans is not allowed to take a break and start rebuilding these days, as a possible tornado has apparently done some fairly significant damage to the airport and homes nearby.

At least two tornado damage paths now confirmed, including one with F2 damage in the city of New Orleans. Still not clear whether the number of tornadoes was 2 or 3, as survey is continuing to determine whether two of the currently identified swaths were continuous or separate. Info available at:

Does anyone have any radar images from around the time of the tornado?

I hadn't realized the extent of the damage until seeing video this morning - - - of course, it's tough to separate Katrina damage from tornado damage at this point, but it looks like these tornadoes were not of the weak variety. It's crazy - but when I saw the threat for the gulf coast on Wednesday the thought actually crossed my mind that it would be really discouraging at this point for NOLA to get a tornado -
