am I wrong or is there a reasonable TS in the GoM ?

seems to be displaying significant rotation .... but there are no current
warnings with NHC

It's not organized and conditions don't look favorable... So not saying it won't develop, but it's clearly not a tropical storm (let alone a notable one.)

There is a good anticyclone as 200mb just to the east of the GOM system so the shear will be too strong for the time being. If the surface system were to move NE very slowly the 200mb pattern would favor development during the next few days. The problem is that the steering flow at mid-levels is strong southerly in the extreme west Gulf, so one would think the low level system will probably move quickly NNE in the direction od western Louisiana.
