Default Altocumulus clouds?

I enjoy looking at clouds, and every so often I will see something I find interesting, like Halo's, sundogs, strange cloud formations like the following I shot one day near the end of summer while on break at work:

Altocumulus clouds?

Thought I would share

Cool shot! Those clouds make for some amazing sunsets/sunrises due to how high based they are. The sun is able to get under them as it sets/rises and create some awesome colors.

Things would be pretty boring around here if it weren't for good ol' altocumulus, fortunately there is plenty of Rocky Mountain wave action for them to play in and we get treated to a real nice sunset once in a while.
Last night this stack lit up just as the sun set.
