GFS last 9-10 days of March. |
|

The last few runs or so of the GFS want to bring an active period to the plains around the 22nd of March. I was just curious if anybody else had any thoughts on this? Since the 22nd is now only eight days away it doesn't seem too far fetched that it could pan out. The GFS nailed this last system within a day or so 10 days out i believe. The spaghetti plots are kind of split on bringing a trough into the plains at this time. I hope future runs will continue to latch onto this active pattern.... [Read More]

Actually a touch of instability on the edge of Brevard combined with some minor rotation. Storm west of Fellsmere, south of Kenansville has exhibited

First the funnel is ragged, then there is rotation, and then a solid, snaking laminar funnel goes to ground behind the trees planted IMO. Not sure why you guys couldn't tell that in person but maybe because you had the video zoomed in. I think on your video it is obvious! Cool! Nice catch.
I feel a bit bad because I made pretty much a pinpoint forecast time and place and decided not to chase because... [Read More]

Chasing locations that are "due" for some increased activity? |
|

Say... locations that've been "slow" the past half decade.
Big one that sticks out to me is the NW Iowa/E SD/SW Minnesota area. Good terrain but for the Missouri River... but nothing significant, it seems, for a while now.
On the other side of things... Missouri gets way more than its fair share of action, anymore, it seems.
Where would you enjoy seeing some increased activity?

How Many Overseas Chasers........ |

Don't think this thread has ever come up before and as it says on the tin just how many Chasers are making the annual pilgramige to the Great Plains this year, would be great to see just how many of us there are and what dates you favour and for that instance how long you will be out for.
It will be good to see how many different countries will be represented.
After doing 35 days during 2007,2008 and 2009 I am out for 47 days this year from April 26th until June... [Read More]
